Throw in red chili powder, turmeric powder, garam masala powder, dry mango powder, coriander powder, salt, and sugar. Saute the mix for a minute. Methi (Indian name) or english name Fenugreek leaves are good source of iron, which can be used to overcome anaemia. It is also a good source of calcium, beta carotene and vitamin C.
Instructions to make Methi (Fenugreek) Masala Sticks:
- Take kneading plate add flour, salt, ghee. Mix it all well add dried fenugreek leaves, carom seeds, turmeric Powder. Mix it all.
- Start adding little water and knead stiff dough. Put 1 tsp oil and knead it cover it and keep aside for 1/2 an hour.
- After an 1/2 hour. Take the dough and make 4 equal parts. Take rolling pin roll all parts as big roti. Keep it on cloth
- Put pan/kadhai on medium flame. Put oil for frying. Once the oil gets hot. Cut rolled Rotis in sticks(rectangular) shape. Fry it in golden colour.
- Take it out in plate sprinkle the masala and keep aside too cool. Once it gets cool keep it in an airtight container and enjoy.
Methi is one of my favourite green leafy plant. I love to eat it as a Gujarati Methi ni Bhaji and Rice, or Maharashtrian style Methi Masala with Chapathi and Rice. Methi chicken is one of the most flavorful, delicious & simple dish made by simmering chicken in moderately spicy masala along with fenugreek leaves aka methi. It goes well with plain rice, roti, naan or with paratha. Methi leaves are one of the most commonly used greens in India.
