  5. Steam for approximately 10 mins. The time will depend on how thick your fillets are but watch for the salmon to shrink to gauge cook time. Take a peek if needed.

Remove from heat and add the remaining ginger and the lime juice. Rub the bottom of a baking dish with the olive oil and place the salmon in it, skin side down. In a glass baking dish or large resealable plastic bag, combine the soy sauce, honey, garlic, ginger, and pepper flakes (if using). Transfer the salmon to a foil-lined broiler pan, skin-side down. Combine the soy sauce, honey, vinegar, lemon juice, ginger and oil in a bowl; pour the mixture over the salmon, turning several times to coat.
